We sang just before Christmas 2011 at Hammersmith and South Kensington Underground stations. We had a good crowd on each occasion and were appreciated by station staff and commuters alike. In just under three hours at each we raised a good deal of money for two worthy charities.
We collected over £540 for the London Maggie's Cancer Care Centre. This is based at Charing Cross Hospital in Fulham Palace Road. It was good to benefit a local organisation. For Shelter we raised over £570. This is a national charity which does so much for the homeless at Christmas and throughout the year.
Both charities gratefully welcomed the funds. Thanks to those members who took part. The rousing singing certailnly encourage giving by the travelling public.
